Find a Mentor

BackPack's mentorship program provides younger students the opportunity to grow alongside their mentors in a safe and sustainable environment. Allowing students to connect with one another on a more personal level creates trust that is often not seen with guidance counselors, teachers or those of authority. When students have a role model that they can relate to, there is more opportunity for them to actually want to learn, grow and become an overall more successful individual in the long run.

Additionally, mentees have the opportunity to become student mentors once they are a Junior in high school. We understand how crucial mentor roles play in younger students' lives, therefore our requirements are minimal. The time commitment is similar to that of the mentor, 1-3 hours weekly for one-on-one check ins.
